User guide · Getting started

How to use
NavLuxeVault.

Start with a demo, or organise your local records.

Use the local browser vault or explore the guest demo without registering or providing an email address. Optional demo accounts can save reviewed synthetic scenarios for later access. Real masked-record storage is not part of this demo service.

Choose your path

A quick guide to getting started

Just exploring? Start with the guest demo and fictional values. Organising your own documents? Use the encrypted local browser vault. These are separate workspaces; the demo does not analyse documents in your vault.

01 · Local browser vault

Create and unlock your vault

  1. Open the local browser vault in a regular browser profile on your own device.
  2. Under Create a local vault, enter and confirm a unique passphrase of at least 16 characters. Store it safely.
  3. Read and tick the backup acknowledgement, then choose Create vault on this device.
  4. On later visits, use the same browser profile and choose Unlock vault with your passphrase. Use Lock vault when finished.

The vault locks when you leave its tab or after five minutes of inactivity. There is no passphrase reset. Browser storage is local to this website and profile.

02 · Records & checklist

Give your documents a place

  1. Choose Import document and select a supported file, or choose Add manual record to record details without a file.
  2. Enter a title, choose Income, Wealth or Estate, and add the owner, institution, date, currency and optional amount or notes. Choose Save encrypted record.
  3. Use the category buttons or Find a local record to locate an item. Open it to edit details or download its original.
  4. In Tax document checklist, choose the financial year and mark the records you have collected or those that are not applicable. A checklist marker does not import or verify a document.

Files are encrypted originals, not automatically read or analysed. The current limits are 10 MB per file and 25 MB total. Export a fresh backup after changes.

03 · Keep a way back

Back up, verify and restore

  1. In Backup & recovery, choose Download encrypted backup. Save the .nvbackup file outside this browser in a safe location.
  2. Choose Verify a backup, select that file, enter its original passphrase and choose Check this backup. This checks the file locally without changing the current vault.
  3. To move or recover a vault, open the vault page in a browser profile with no existing vault. Under Restore an encrypted backup, select the file and enter its original passphrase.
  4. Choose Restore into this browser. Restore does not overwrite an existing vault; use a separate profile if needed.

A cloud-synchronised backup folder may send the encrypted file to your cloud provider. Keep the passphrase safe separately. Neither an email address nor an account can recover the current vault.

04 · Fictional guest demo

See your dashboard change

  1. Open the guest demo, tick the features you want to explore and choose Continue as guest. Unticked categories are excluded from totals.
  2. Change the fictional household inputs. Income fields use monthly take-home cash. Watch the baseline dashboard update.
  3. For a property, enter full-property amounts and the household ownership percentage. Add dated PPOR and investment-property periods. These history dates do not establish a CGT outcome.
  4. For shares, units or businesses, use the relevant registers and purchase parcels. Reduce the matching Other unitemised inputs when entering the same balances as individual records, to avoid counting them twice.
  5. Use Download demo to keep a JSON snapshot, or Reset demo to return to sample values. Changes are saved in this browser; there is no demo-file import control.

Use fictional values only: demo storage and downloaded JSON are not encrypted. Resetting the demo leaves your encrypted vault alone.

05 · Explore the numbers

Try Game-Day and WFH options

Game-Day scenarios

  1. Start with the baseline dashboard, then tick an event such as income stopping, an interest-rate rise, a market fall or retirement.
  2. Adjust the event controls. Compare each scenario with the same baseline, and inspect the combined result when several events are selected.
  3. Read cash flow, net wealth and cash runway together. Runway uses bank cash and a monthly deficit; it does not automatically sell assets or withdraw super.

For a separate worked property-exit and retirement example, explore the original concept screens. That fixed example is separate from the editable guest dashboard.

WFH deduction working paper

  1. Tick WFH deductions in the feature choices. In its panel, choose the employee, income year and comparison, single-method or record-only view.
  2. Enter recorded hours, expense amounts and supported work-use percentages. Equipment and repair entries are manually supplied eligible work-use amounts; the tool does not calculate depreciation.
  3. Review the declarations and supporting-record markers. Incomplete evidence remains flagged. A fixed-rate result is unavailable for a year whose rate is not verified in the app.
  4. Compare the methods separately. Do not add them together. The working-paper deduction is not a refund and does not change salary, cash flow or wealth on the dashboard.

Optional demo accounts · available

Why create a demo account?

Keep your customised synthetic demo scenarios and Game-Day settings on the server. Sign in from another device and use your separate storage passphrase to decrypt a saved copy.

  1. Choose a demo account ID and password; confirm you are at least18 and accept the NavLuxeVault demo terms/privacy notice. No email or marketing subscription is required.
  2. Customise mock examples in the guest demo, then open Demo account and choose Preview my customised demo.
  3. Review the snapshot, enter a separate storage passphrase and confirm the upload. Choose Encrypt and save to account. Each save is a snapshot, not automatic sync.
  4. On another device, sign in, enter the storage passphrase, choose Decrypt and review, then Use reviewed demo in this browser. Open Guest demo to continue.
  5. Export encrypted copies or delete live saved copies from the account page. Account creation uploads nothing automatically, and a guest reset does not delete saved server copies.

Use synthetic/mock data only, not actual personal or confidential records. The account password cannot reset a lost encryption passphrase. This evaluation service has no permanent-retention or uninterrupted-availability guarantee; keep your own encrypted exports.

Real masked-record storage, email updates, bank connections and accountant access remain separate future features. Demo terms · Demo privacy notice

Email preferences

Useful updates, on your terms.

Our intended approach is optional registration and a separate, unticked choice for product emails. Using the vault should not require joining a mailing list.

If subscriptions are introduced, each marketing email should include an unsubscribe link, and preferences should let you stop marketing without closing your account. Essential security or service messages would be explained separately.

No subscription form is active on this page. There is nothing to subscribe to or unsubscribe from here today.

Common questions

Does an account recover my vault or passphrase?

No. The current vault has no account-based recovery or passphrase reset. Keep the original passphrase and an encrypted backup. Losing the passphrase means the backup cannot be decrypted.

Will my records appear on another device?

There is no automatic sync in the current release. Optional demo accounts let you resume explicitly saved synthetic scenarios across devices after signing in and supplying the storage passphrase. Masked-record storage is not enabled. Your original local vault would remain separate. Today, to move a vault, download an encrypted backup and restore it on the other browser or device using the original passphrase. An email address alone cannot restore it.

What happens if I clear browser data?

Clearing site data, removing the browser profile or losing the device can remove the local vault. Download and verify a backup before clearing storage. Private browsing is not suitable for keeping a lasting vault.

Is the guest demo encrypted?

No. The guest demo saves fictional inputs as plaintext in browser storage and is separate from the encrypted vault. Do not enter real names, account details or financial records into the demo. Its reset affects the demo, not your vault.

Does “local” mean the website receives no connection information?

Financial records stay local in the current vault. Loading the public website still involves ordinary connection information, including IP addresses and requested pages, processed by the website host and Cloudflare. See website privacy information.

How do I ask for help or suggest a feature?

Email NavLuxeVault support with a description of the problem and browser version. Do not include financial documents, passwords, TFNs or account numbers. You can also vote for a feature.
