Common questions
How do I create a student account?
- Create a parent account with your own generated eight-digit adult ID and password (email optional), then sign in to the parent dashboard.
- Choose Add student → Create student ID. The student is assigned to your parent account automatically.
- Set the student password under Student details & settings → Student login password, confirming your parent password.
- Give the child their eight-digit ID and password to use on Student sign in.
My child forgot their password
Select the child in your parent dashboard and set a new student password. The student ID, history and notes are kept. Student QR links and browser setup codes are no longer used.
1. Set up your practice space
On the dashboard, choose your grade—this is required. A name or nickname and avatar are optional. Choose a motivation and inspirational person or theme if you would like encouragement. Save your choices with Open my dashboard.
A new learner sees a welcome message. Return to the dashboard to see previous practice and change your profile.
2. Find a question
Open Practice. Search by topic, then use the topic, grade and difficulty filters. Choose Easy to build confidence or Medium for more challenge. Filters update the list automatically; use Clear filters to reset them.
Open a question to begin. Use ← Back to practice on the question page when you are finished.
3. Try your final answer
- Read the question and any diagram. Required skills are available above the question.
- Press Start attempt when you are ready. Time continues if you switch tabs.
- Enter one numerical final answer or select one multiple-choice option, depending on the question.
- Press Check final answer. You can try again for practice.
Equivalent supported numerical forms, such as 0.5 and 1/2, can be accepted. You may leave out a displayed expected unit; if you enter a unit, it must match. Follow any requested answer format. Put steps in Scratch working, rather than the final-answer box.
Scratch working is optional and not graded. If the checker cannot interpret an answer, follow its message or report the problem.
4. Explore the help
Click the reveal panels for required skills, pictures or shapes, formulas and explanations, the worked solution and answer, and alternative methods. Available panels depend on the question. Diagrams may be concept illustrations rather than drawings to scale.
Alternative methods may include mental arithmetic or Vedic maths where suitable. Some questions have no useful alternative method.
For a timed result, submit your answer before opening help. Revealing solution help or exporting it during an attempt makes that attempt practice only.
5. Understand your progress
Your dashboard shows practice recorded in this browser. Timed ratings compare a correct first submission with the question’s estimated target time. They are practice guidance, not exam scores. Later attempts and attempts using solution help are practice only.
A question’s history lets you review earlier attempts. Connected students with uploads enabled can restore server-saved history after signing in. Ask your parent to set a student password in their dashboard. Guest history stays in this browser.
6. Keep notes and download them
Open My notes on a question and write what you want to remember. Live word counts appear under notes, scratch working and feedback as you type. Notes and scratch working save in this browser when storage is available. Connected students with uploads enabled also save them to their account; check the save message.
For one question, choose a Save as format and press Download notes. Tick Include formulas and solutions if you want the available learning help too. Use the dashboard’s notebook export to consolidate saved questions by topic.
- PDF: opens a print view. Choose Save as PDF in your browser’s print dialog and allow the print window if prompted.
- Word: downloads a .docx document.
- Web page: saves an HTML file.
- Images: saves JPG pages; several pages download together as a ZIP.
- JSON archive: saves structured question and note data.
Download names include a timestamp. If a file opens instead of saving, use its save link under Files ready to save or your browser’s Save As command. Keep the tab open until you have saved the file. An export is not a complete account backup.
7. Report a problem or suggest an improvement
Open the reporting panel on the question. Choose the report type and area, then describe what happened or what could be better. The question ID and version are included automatically.
You can attach up to two PNG/JPEG screenshots (2 MiB each). Review attachments before sharing and leave out personal details.
Create diagnostic log enables a small log of event codes and timestamps. Download a ZIP to keep your report. Download ZIP & email opens a draft; attach the downloaded ZIP yourself before sending. Nothing is emailed automatically.
Website feedback uploads depend on the host; use the ZIP/email route if it is unavailable.
8. Choose your appearance
Use the Appearance menu for Dark, Light or System mode. System follows your device’s colour preference. The choice is remembered in this browser when storage is available.
9. Look after your saved work
Guest work and profile preferences stay in this browser. Connected student history, typed answers, notes and scratch working also save to PostgreSQL while uploads are enabled. Sign in again to restore server-saved work. Other people using the same browser profile may see them. Use a nickname on shared devices and download important notes before clearing browser data or changing devices.
Questions, hints and worked solutions are prepared learning material. AI-assisted explanations can contain mistakes—use Report a problem to help improve them.
